the UMi Plus E with Helio P20/6GB RAM is coming this season - pecs and price

November/December, like any other part in the world, is quite a shopping frenzy season in China. Speaking of, a Chinese company — UMi — has come out with yet another phone for this season — the UMi Plus E.
As the name would suggest, the UMi Plus E (‘E’ for ‘Extreme’) is a cousin of the already-existing UMi Plus. What does the UMi Plus E have then? It comes with the Helio P20 SoC, and along with that, a hefty 6GB of RAM.
UMi suggest that the Plus E will be one of the first Helio P20 phones. Let’s take a quick look at the specifications of the UMi Plus E.

UMi Plus E Specifications

  • 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 FHD display
  • 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P20 SoC
  • 6GB RAM
  • 64GB ROM
  • 13 mega-pixel rear camera (Samsung) with PDAF
  • 4000mAh battery
  • Fingerprint sensor (front)
UMi Plus E Specifications
The Plus E will feature a hybrid dual SIM slot, which means you’ll be able to use the second slot either for storage expansion (up to 256GB) or for a secondary SIM.
The Plus E marks the beginning of the first 6GB RAM phones from this category. We’ve seen Chinese phones ship with 4GB of RAM, and some did quite well in that regard. It’ll be interesting to see how companies from this category are able to integrate 6GB RAM with good performance.

UMi Plus E Price

plus-e-overview_01
“priced at $269.99, with the pre-sale price being $199.99”
With larger brands making high-end spec affordable to almost anyone, it’ll be crucial for brands in UMi’s horizon to price their phones well.
The UMi Plus E will be priced at $269.99, with the special pre-sale price being $199.99.
Thoughts: It’s encouraging to see mid-level brands come up with high-end tech. It’s still a while before we get to see the Plus E in the flesh, but hopefully it’ll be worth it.

iPhone 7 vs. Google Pixel: 7 ways Google’s new smartphones outshine Apple

Google on Tuesday finally took the wraps off of its brand new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. The handsets had been detailed in countless leaks leading up to Tuesday’s unveiling, and there were precious few surprises in store when the phones were finally made official. Of course, we don’t need to be surprised to be impressed and there are plenty of impressive packed into Google’s first smartphones that were “made by Google.”

Android fans might have to kiss the Nexus brand goodbye, but there’s still plenty to look forward to from the Pixel lineup. We already told you about the new phones’ 10 best features so in this post, we’ll focus on seven areas where Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL outshine the most popular flagship smartphones in the world, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

DON’T MISS: Specs of Google Pixel and Pixel XL

Google Assistant
Google Assistant is the future of Google. The new software product uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to create a turbocharged Siri of sorts, pulling in data from countless sources in order to custom tailor the Google experience to each user’s needs. It can be accessed by voice or by text, and it can perform functions ranging from answering typical Google search queries to more personalized ones. For example, “show me photos from my trip to Las Vegas” will open the photos app and show you all relevant images.

Assistant will be available across a wide range of devices, including the iPhone 7 at some point. Apple’s iPhones will never feature the deep integration that owners of the Pixel or Pixel XL will enjoy, though.

Unlimited HQ photo and video storage
Every Pixel and Pixel XL comes with free unlimited photo and video storage using Google Photos, and there are no quality restrictions. This is a big deal considering how much space 4K videos and 12-megapixel photos take up. Owners of Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can get the same feature on their devices with the Google Photos app, but they’ll have to pay to keep files at their original quality.

Smart storage
Speaking of all the storage space that high-quality photos and 4K videos take up, the Pixel phones have a fantastic new feature that will automatically begin deleting photos and videos off of your phone when your internal storage begins to near full capacity. The phones will only remove files that have already been backed up by Google Photos, of course, so users will still be able to access them anytime.

Better display resolution
The new displays on Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are much better than last years screens thanks to better color response, but the displays still have low resolutions and pixel densities compared to rival phones like the Pixels. Apple’s smaller iPhone 7 has 720p resolution compared to 1080p on the Pixel, and the iPhone 7 Plus has 1080p resolution while the Pixel XL phablet packs 2K resolution into the same 5.5-inch screen size.

Apple fans will be quick to tell you that resolution and pixel density don’t matter, but they’ll be singing a much different tune next year when Apple finally releases iPhones with higher-resolution displays.

Daydream
There are plenty of virtual reality headsets that are compatible with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Check out this $20 VR headset, for example. Finding good VR content to enjoy on your iPhone can be a bit tricky though, since Apple doesn’t yet offer its own VR experience and dedicated VR app store. The Pixel and Pixel XL, on the other hand, support Google’s Daydream VR platform. They’ll work with the Daydream View and plenty of future Daydream headsets, and they’ll be able to take full advantage of the new VR platform.

Background OS updates
The Pixel and Pixel XL get Android updates instantly and directly from Google, just like how iPhones get updates from Apple. But because these new phones ship with Android Nougat, they push things a step further. When Google makes new Android OS updat

A painful reminder of just how bad the iPhone 7’s battery life is

Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were released just two weeks ago, but two weeks has been more than enough time for users to get a feel for the phones’ strengths and weaknesses. And as it turns out, they have far more strengths than weaknesses. Apple’s next-gen iPhones are the most powerful smartphones on the planet, and they’ve been improved in nearly every way compared to last year’s iPhone models. There’s one key area where the latest iPhone models aren’t class leaders though, and unfortunately it’s an area where Apple’s iPhone lineup is in desperate need of improvement: Battery life.
A recent test performed by UK-based gadget testing firm Which? confirmed what Apple fans all already knew but have tried their hardest to forget — the iPhone 7 has terrible battery life.
Apple claimed on stage that the new 4.7-inch iPhone 7 offers up to two additional hours of battery life compared to last year’s iPhone 6s, and tests have definitely shown an improvement in this key area. But even with improvements over last year’s iPhone, the iPhone 7 still falls embarrassingly short of rival handsets where battery performance is concerned.
Which? ran tests that compared Apple’s iPhone 7 to the latest flagship phones from three of Apple’s top rivals, and the results weren’t pretty. The firm’s testing sought to determine exactly how long each phone’s battery would last while making voice calls and while browsing the web, both using 3G. Apple’s iPhone 7 came in dead last in both tests. The web browsing test was at least close but the voice call testing was ridiculous, with Apple’s handset lasting less than half as long as any other phone.
smartphone-battery-life-2016
We covered the results of this test last week, but it bears revisiting because battery life is so important to smartphone users and with each new smartphone generation, Apple falls further behind. We’ve already established that Apple values design andthinness far more than it values battery longevity, but we’re getting to the point where Apple’s love affair with thin iPhones goes against the company’s tendency to put users’ needs first.
Next year, Apple is expected to release completely redesigned iPhones. Details surrounding Apple’s iPhone 8 have already begun to trickle in, and some of the new features we’re expecting sound fantastic. But we also hope 2017 is the year Apple finally begins to catch up to rivals where battery life is concerned, because Apple’s current solution to the problem is a hideous battery case. What’s the point of designing thin, gorgeous smartphones if you then want users to completely ruin the design with an atrocious battery case?

atleast with the above specs, you can easily tell the difference between these two smartphones an also the similarities between both of them, and i also think that the price here in Nigeria will also be over hyped considering the present economy of Nigeria.

what do you think about this smartphones, because to me Tecno Mobile has just taken the game to another level.
Note that the phantom 6 plus will be lunched in Dubai on the 25th of September.

specification of HTC Desire 10 Pro + Desire 10 Lifestyle

The leaks ruined the surprise, but HTC just unveiled the latest devices in its storied Desire line-up.
HTC calls the Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle “the biggest leap since the original Desire.” The two phones feature matte plastic designs that take cues from the metallic edges of the HTC 10, coupled with “high mid-range” specs and features including a fingerprint reader (Desire 10 Pro) and Hi-Fi sound (Desire 10 Lifestyle).
The Desire 10 Pro is the phone that you want if you’re looking for the best specs and features. The Desire 10 Lifestyle is a cheaper option that redeems itself – to an extent – through the audio experience.

HTC Desire 10 Pro specs

A56DJPRO

  • Dimensions: 156.5 x 76 x 7.86mm, 165g
  • Display: 5.5-inch, Full HD (1080p) IPS Gorilla Glass
  • Processor: 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio P10
  • RAM: 3GB or 4GB
  • Storage: 32GB or 64GB, expandable
  • Rear camera: 20 MP, f/2.2, laser autofocus
  • Front camera: 13MP, f.2.2, Selfie Panorama
  • Battery: 3,000-mAh, fast charging
  • Other features: HTC BoomSound profile, fingerprint reader
  • Operating system: Android 6.0 with HTC Sense

 HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle specs

  • Dimensions: 156.9 x 76.9 x 7.7mm, 155g
  • Display: 5.5-inch, HD (720p) Super LCD Gorilla Glass
  • Processor: quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
  • RAM: 2GB or 3GB
  • Storage: 16GB or 32GB, expandable
  • Rear camera: 13 MP, f/2.2
  • Front camera: 5MP, f.2.8
  • Battery: 2,700-mAh, fast charging
  • Other features: HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition, Hi-Res certified, Dolby Audio
  • Operating system: Android 6.0 with HTC Sense
Unfortunately, only the Desire 10 Pro features a fingerprint reader. The good news is the sensor is mounted on the back and not on the bottom bezel like on the HTC 10.

Both phones will be available in black, white, dark blue, and light blue. HTC isn’t very open when it comes to the price and availability of the Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle, but we were given some pointers. The duo will be released “internationally,” but not in the United States. The Desire 10 Lifestyle will arrive by the end of September, but you’ll have to wait until November to get the beefier HTC Desire 10 Pro.

As for the price, we were told to expect something in the vicinity of 300 euros for the Desire 10 Lifestyle, while the 10 Pro will be positioned somewhere in between that and the HTC 10.

Let us know your thoughts on these two new devices? Tempted?

iPhone 7 speed test results are in, and they’re going to surprise you

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are out, which means early buyers will put them through a variety of performance and durability tests. We’ve already seen a full teardown of the phablet and an extensive durability test. It’s now time to look at the performance of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, as the first comparisons with the iPhone 6s and Galaxy S7 appeared on YouTube.

iPhone 7 Plus vs. iPhone 6s Plus
As you’ll see in MadMattTV’s video, the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus appear to be equals when it comes to opening specific default apps. The iPhone 6s Plus is slightly faster at opening up the Camera app, while the iPhone 7s Plus seems to do be quicker at opening the App Store app and loading websites in Safari.

For more intense tasks, the iPhone 7 Plus comes out ahead, but only slightly. The new phablet completes the Geekbench test faster and gets significantly higher scores, and it exports movies faster than its predecessor. The iPhone 7 Plus is also slightly faster at loading games.

For some reason, the iPhone 6s Plus boots a lot faster than the iPhone 7 Plus, but that’s not something that will bother you in day-to-day usage. What you will appreciate about the iPhone 7 Plus is its Wi-Fi speed, which is far superior to the iPhone 6s Plus.

The overall conclusion following this speed test is that the iPhone 6s is no slouch compared to the iPhone 7. The new iPhone scores a lot better in benchmarks, but the speed gains aren’t always noticeable.

Of course, there’s an explanation. This is likely because of the way the A10 Fusion is designed to work. It’s a four-core mobile chip that has two high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores. For some of the tasks in the video below, the iPhone 7 Plus is undoubtedly relying on the more efficient cores.

What we don’t see in this clip is how fast the iPhone 7 can cycle through apps, or how fast it opens apps that are already loaded. This is just one of the first iPhone 7 vs. iPhone 6s speed tests that hit the web though, so it’s likely that more thorough speed battles will be available soon.

iPhone 7 Plus vs. iPhone 7 vs. iPhone 6s Plus

YouTube channel MarcianoTech has an extensive video that compares the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus. But the test only looks at benchmark scores. We have Geekbench, 3DMark Ice Storm and JetStream tests in this video, and the iPhone 7 simply crushes its predecessor. The new iPhones are also much quicker at loading Modern Combat 5 than the iPhone 6s Plus.

iPhone 7 Plus vs. Galaxy S7
Finally, a video that appears to originate from the same source even though it was posted on The Dutch Gamer shows us the iPhone 7 defeating the Galaxy S7 in the same benchmark tests. It also shows the two phones opening graphics intensive games (Asphalt and Modern Combat 5) and the iPhone 7 is the faster device. In one test, the Modern Combat 5 game on the iPhone isn’t configured, so the tester has to set up some settings while the game is loading.

so guys, what do you think?

This is how much you’ll pay each time you lose your iPhone 7 headphone adapter

Good news, audiophiles, you’ll be able to use your 3.5mm headphones with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus thanks to an official Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone adapter that comes with each iPhone purchase. The adapter is really easy to use, and isn’t too annoying – you really can’t make it look any better. It’s also really easy to misplace, and you’re probably going to lose one faster than you can explain what a Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone jack does. Thankfully, Apple will be ready to sell one of these babies in its stores, so don’t despair just yet.

The “Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter” is already listed on Apple’s website and you can buy one for $9. It’s just over what you’d pay for that overpriced coffee you keep drinking, so by Apple standards, it’s a steal.

And yes, you can use it right away with your current iPhone, for practice until the iPhone 7 comes along. “Works with all devices that have a Lightning connector and support iOS 10 or later, including iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone.”
    lightning-to-3-5mm-headphone-jack-adapter
The iPhone 7 will ship with Lightning EarPods in the box, but you’ll need this adapter in case you want to use your more expensive headphones, which probably come with a now-old-fashioned 3.5mm jack.
The AirPods that Apple also unveiled during its iPhone 7 event on Wednesday will ship later this year, and they’ll be completely wireless. At $159, the AirPods are a lot more expensive than the adapter, but the price certainly seems worth it. Replacing lost AirPods will be a huge annoyance for your wallet.
